BLACK HOUSE PROJECT ‘The Pack’ - Olive Drab
Finally had time to photograph the new Pack and post! I updated the back straps with brass hardware, added the side buckle straps and added a top handle for easy carrying.
The Pack is my take on the U.S. M1928 Haversack, the standard issue backpack used by all U.S. Army and Marine Corps infantrymen throughout World War I & II. Constructed of 18oz heavyweight cotton duck canvas with handcrafted vegetable tanned leather straps and solid brass buckles. Details include a large front pocket (also known as the ‘meat pouch’ which was used to store cans of meat), 2 side pockets, roomy inside pocket, inside red binding detail and side leather buckle straps for hanging a bike helmut or tall items.
